In and around Udaynagar there are about a lakh people residing and many of them are devotees of Lord Ayyappa. The main objective of establishing a temple in this part of Bangalore is mainly to help those thousands of devotees pilgrimaging to Sabarimala to attain the sublimation of their long cherished desire of visiting the holy hills.

In view of the feeling expressed by many, a widely attended meeting of the interested people of Udaynagar was convened and a Working Committee elected from it. This organisation named as "Swami Ayyappa Seva Samithi, Udaynagar" and a detailed byelaw has been approved later by the General body of disciplined functioning of the system. All through the response for the initiative is tremendous from the public.

Devotion of oneself gives lot of peace of mind to them. Many of us may not be able to attain this posture in the house or in their work spot because situation outside will detracts the attention and concentration of mind. Considering these physical truth, we the devotees in Udaynagar, decided to establish an "Ayyappa Temple" after a detailed and prolonged thought.

Generally, public comprising of middle class and lower middle class strata of this area is not in an easy preposition to construct a Temple of this nature under strict guidance of "Temple Vastu Shilpa". However to start with a land measuring with an area of 4000 sq. ft. has already been purchased and cash advance paid for another adjacent land of 2000 sq. ft. through contribution and donation from the devotees.
